Bioethics can help guide us through the uncharted territory that advances in science are opening up around the globe, but for many early career bioethicists around the world, it’s not clear how to build their knowledge and move ahead in the field.

Building on the Global Health Initiative’s (GHI) previous work to raise the level of bioethics knowledge in Greece, SNF is partnering with The Hastings Center to launch a pilot program supporting emerging bioethicists across the world, with a particular emphasis on scholars from traditionally underrepresented areas of the world and backgrounds. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Bioethics Program will build global and diverse capacity in bioethics by connecting seven early-career bioethicists each year with mentorship from established academics in the bioethics field.

The Hastings Center, which has played an integral role in shaping the field, is a trusted voice in bioethics and is committed to creating space for informed, diverse discourse around the bioethical challenges we face as a society. It draws upon its community of Hastings Center Fellows, an esteemed group of accomplished bioethicists, to provide mentorship and support to rising bioethicists in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Bioethics Program.
