This SNF grant is ensuring the procurement and installation of a digital, fully flexible and expandable nurse call and communications system for the rooms and patient beds in the ‘AXEPA’ and ‘PATERA’ buildings of Evangelismos. The system includes 798 call units for 23 nursing stations in corresponding clinics and provides the option of centralized monitoring.
This system is critical for the work of its nursing staff, reinforcing a vital communication channel between patients and nurses, with life-saving outcomes, especially during the challenging conditions currently faced by the health sector.
Despite the initial delay in implementation due to global supply chain challenges following the onset of the pandemic, the first delivery and installation of equipment took place in October 2021. The equipment was commissioned in stages, as and when individual rooms became accessible, given the hospital’s heavy COVID-19 workload. The overall project was fully concluded in November 2022.
